Something new

One of the things that is constant in this life is change. Everyone experiences change, even animals do. Some changes are good, some can be bad…Whether it’s in career, family, religion..anything, there’s always change. In seasons or with reasons ( using random phrases like these make me feel wise… and yes, I am wise, haha).

Okay, I could go on and on about change ( not that it would make any sense; I was taught in primary school to always try as much to keep my Essays short and precise otherwise they lose meaning, short is relative though), although, I choose to move on  before I get stuck in definitions.  Ever wondered what your purpose in life is? Well, many people seem to discover their life’s purpose every single day. The ones I’ve heard about focus on giving life value, which is actually really cool because as years go by, people seem to care less about life, odd. Anyway, that’s something to ponder about.

Something new…a new pair of shoes, a new hairdo, a new house, a new job, a baby…babies are new, right?, a new relationship ( ladies and gentlemen, when a ‘relationship’ is mentioned its good to think about it in different contexts, it’s not about dating only, I had to say that), a new blog, a new routine….trying out new things should be exciting especially when geared towards a goal. I imagine when there’s no goal tied to it, usually the fun is short-lived, but doesn’t everybody want something fulfilling and long last lasting? something to always be proud of?…. I know I do. I love shoes, for sure…..but we are not talking about shoes today.

When you want something new, how much do you invest in it? Are the changes you make sustainable? Are you willing to drop an old habit and perhaps form a new one? What motivates you to go for it? Will it change your life positively? Will it change the people around you? Will you enjoy it?. These are  some vital questions that I think should matter when thinking about something new.

There’s confidence in newness, uncertainty could be there as well, but it never lasts. Confidence breeds power…and then some more confidence. I’ve come to learn that human beings are capable of doing anything they put their minds to. I, for example, somehow, became a baker, a self taught baker. You-tube has been my friend, my confidant, my ride or die, my bff, my fire, my ice, my everything nice (hahaha! this is funny though). I digress…so yeah, I am a baker… one day I just thought about baking a nice cake for my family, they loved it….I have lots of free time in my hands so I just kept baking…for my neighbors as well until I saw the electricity bill and I was like “This will not pay itself” and it was time to pay for my services. My confidence is growing each day… who knows, I could be the female version of Adriano Zumbo one day, I can’t wait!

Newness is great. Just like this blog is…my first ever… It’s awkward, it’s a bit tense, but it feels amazing. Let’s start something new today, shall we?
